Many thanks to Wendy for continuing FNSI on blogger as well as Facebook. Good to join in with everyone again. You can see who else took part here and our winners from the end of 2025.
We had a lovely day out to Watchet, a favourite harbour town on the West Somerset coast. It was a beautiful sunny morning and we met friends for coffee which turned into lunch. It was then time for a walk by the harbour at which point we had the first of several showers. So popped into the East Quay arts centre for a browse round the shop and the Two Rivers Paper Mill. I was tempted to buy a pack of their paper offcuts for my new sketchbook project. They are between exhibitions at the moment.
It stopped raining so we went for a walk out to the sea wall and got back to East Quay in time to dive into the restaurant for a coffee and miss the next shower. And then it was time to go home. Sorry no pictures - too busy talking😂
So when I got home I worked on my Stitch Journal This is how it is looking so far - half way through the month already!
Friday's addition was the blue flower top left, todays the scroll stitch scroll.
Then it was time to work on my crochet. I completed the first 30 rows of the CAL earlier in the week so last night I made a start on the new colour chart for the next 40 rows.
Also this week I have been working on my Chookshed Challenge and I have now completed the base stitching for all 6 sides of the box.
And started adding the flowers and vegetables.
You had a very lovely week. I was tempted to join in with the crochet a-long. The photo of yours coming along is making it tempting again, so pretty. What brand of yarn are you using? and weight?
ReplyDeleteThe little house is coming along very nicely and that crochet blanket looks so very cosy. I pulled one of mine out today, it's rather cold here and there was snow on the mountains the other day. In the middle of summer!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful days outing to Watchet Lin. Your crochet blanket & your kitset box are looking wonderful. xx
ReplyDeleteYour stitch journal is growing nicely.
ReplyDeleteLove the added stitchery to your box panels.
You have made good progress with your projects. Lucky to have squeezed in a walk at the beach. Happy stitching
ReplyDeleteGreat to get out, gotta love those tea's that turn into lunches! Stitching journal is looking good and the crochet is just beautiful. Funny that even if we have our own list of things to do we still get tempted by other projects!

Some lovely projects are being worked on.
ReplyDeleteAhh....there's always temptation to start a new stitching project, isn't there? The CAL is lovely in those colours and the flowers and veggies add a pop of lovely colour to the little box. The stitch journal embroidery, as always, is impressive, Lin.
ReplyDeleteLin, all your stitching is lovely, and what a gorgeous blanket that's going to be. I wanted to join in, but have been sidetracked with an interesting knitting project instead. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like the perfect January week. Your projects are all coming along nicely.

ReplyDeleteI love seeing your stitch journal posts! You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteI hadn’t been able to comment on your blog (and some others) for a long time, but after an iPad update, I am able to again.
Thank you so much, dear Lin, I enjoyed watching to Watchet:-) It's good to know. We haven't planned our holiday in detail yet.
ReplyDeleteYour two embroidery projects are beautiful.
Thanks for showing me the Crocheted Challenge, now I have a very good idea of what it's going to be... it will be beautiful.
Have fun crocheting... and yes, knitting gloves is fun too!
