It's a beautiful sunny day here and lovely and warm in the conservatory, but pop outside and you get hit by a chilly wind! We are enjoying watching a pair of blue tits nesting in a box we put up on the fence which has honeysuckle growing over it so they are slightly hidden. We get a perfect view from the conservatory and look forward to welcoming some babies in time.
My weeks progress on my Stitch Journal. At the moment I am working through some feather stitch variations.
My granny squares are now a cardigan but still a way to go on this.
I have had to make some adjustments while putting together as it was going to come out far too wide. I have also ordered some more yarn as I wish to make the cardigan longer than the pattern says and also need extra for the front edging as the pattern was for a jumper. As this will not arrive for a couple of days I shall not get a finish for the end of the month. However, I am looking forward to seeing which number Deana pulls for the April Chookshed Challenge - I am hoping for something simple off my list to allow for finishing my cardigan.
Having had a mostly dry week we have been working in the garden - I have painted the new gate we had put in at the end of last year and oiled up the wooden garden chairs. Next up is to paint the matching table and chairs that sit by the greenhouse. Annoyingly the day we had earmarked for going out turned out to be damp, grey and windy! Hopefully better luck for next week when we are meeting friends at Killerton for the day.
Wishing you all a happy, stitchy week.
The cardigan is fabulous! The colors are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour cardigan is beautiful. Glad you've got ideas on how to get it tailored for you and that there is still yarn available for you to grab up. Fingers crossed for good weather for your upcoming outing.
ReplyDeleteYour cardigan is looking so beautiful already Lin. I hope you get some warmer temps & sunnier days soon - for your outings. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely progress on your cardigan.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your stitch journal Lin and your cardigan is looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour cardigan will be fantastic! I once crocheted a dress with a bodice like that and knitted a high-waisted skirt to go with it; I loved wearing it.
ReplyDeleteWe had to cancel a few outings because of the bad weather, but it won't be long before we can head out again… enjoying the sunshine and birdsong.
Good luck and have fun knitting and crochet your cardigan!
Oh, your stitch journal is so pretty. You are making me want to do some of that! Love your cardigan, those colors are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour cardigan is looking amazing...beautiful colours.
ReplyDeleteI love how the cardigan is looking, hope the rest of the yarn arrives soon. Weather has a way of messing up our plans.... though I can't complain about ours at the moment except for the winds

The cardigan is looking so good, Lin. Sounds like you had a productive day outside. I hope the weather is nice so you can meet your friends.
ReplyDeleteYour "cardie" is looking very pretty. More gorgeous stitching for your journal.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great with your cardigan. There is a bit of planning to get it finished. Well done.
ReplyDeleteYour stitch journal is look great and you'er doing really well with the cardigan.
ReplyDeleteIt's blowing a hoolie here, I won't be going in the garden any time soon!
ReplyDeleteYour crochet cardigan is looking great = I think longer will be better...I think you just need to change your goal to "Progress on . . ." and you will be OK.
ReplyDeleteHaning out for Aprils number as well...it seems like we have to wait longer as we get to the 1st before Deana does!
and what is a "hoolie"??? An English expression?? - we would probably say 'blowing a gale' I
ReplyDeleteNice colors you used for the cardigan looks beautiful.
ReplyDeletegreetings
Both your stitch journal and your Granny Square cardigan are looking great - I love the colours you are using. I hope you don't have to wait too long for the yarn, nor too long before you can get out into the garden again.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to observe. Hope you get some babies. Love your feather stitch and your cardigan is just so lovely. Our weather doesn't seem to know its Autumn yet lol!
ReplyDeleteThe cardy is coming along famously. I’m sure you will make it work for you.
