Yes, the sun has made a happy return and although there has been a chilly wind at times and a light frost most nights, overall it has been a lovely week. Yesterday and today with temperatures over 20 degrees it has been gorgeous. We have been busy in the garden and yesterday bought tomato and cucumber plants for the greenhouse. The growbags are in place so no doubt they will be planted up this week.
The garden furniture has now been either painted or oiled so is looking very smart and I even put up the umbrella this morning.
Stitch Journal progress for this week.
The patches are hiding a ruck in the fabric and are held down with varietes of cretan stitch - always a useful stitch.
I now have a clutch of snap pouches awaiting their snap.
and there has been knitting progress with both socks now on the home run - there seems to have been a lot of football this week!
Right, I am off to the garden - lots more to do. Hope you have a great week.
I am pleased you are getting nice warmer weather at last Lin - do you sit in the garden to do your stitching when its warmer? I had not heard of cretan stitch before - how fascinating. xx
ReplyDeleteIt is always lovely to be able to get out into the sunshine. Great progress on the socks and pretty snap bags awaiting their snaps.
ReplyDeleteYou've been very busy. Those socks look amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of adding patches and decorate them like it was planned that way instead of an obligation because of a mishap in the fabric. Now, you will have to do this elsewhere in the project, otherwise these patches will look suspicious, lol. I love your stitches. Cretan stitches! I didn't know that word. Thanks for making me smarter. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteHow fun you've gotten started on your garden. What are growbags?
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy, busy that's what you are, Lin. Oh my, what fabulously patterned socks! Love them! How wonderful the sun is out and you are sprucing up everything. Nothing like sitting under a shady umbrella, on newly painted garden furniture enjoying all things spring. Is there a spare chair for me?? =)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are getting set for spring and summer. You've gotten a lot done this past week. Working in the garden sounds lovely!
