RSC and a few ticks off my list!

Friday Night with Friends
A very profitable FNwFs for me as I ticked several jobs off my list. Having both of us returned from our travels with covid we are confined to home and I can stitch away without any pressure. Fortunately I have only felt like I have a cold although Philip has felt much worse and suffered with a nasty cough and throat. On the mend now fortunately.
So what was I up to - first up I made these pretty swap hexies which will be winging their way down under next time I go out.
Then it was RSC time and I completed the second of my corner rainbow Dresdens.
During the evening I picked up my knitting and completed the back of the heel and the turn on this sock.
Feeling very pleased with myself as I have managed to match the colour change perfectly with the first sock!
Many thanks to Cheryll for getting us together - pop over here to see who else took part and what they got up to.
Still working on all the pictures I took while we were away but will do a holiday post soon.
Have a great weekend.

Friday Night WithFriends September
Many thanks to Cheryll for another great Friday night - I have already seen lots of lovely things that have been worked on. Pop over to Cherylls place here to see who else took part.
As it is the beginning of the month I was working on my RSC project. I am now working on my rainbow Dresdens for the corners of my quilt - one a month until December. I managed to get the first one made and in place yesterday.
Good use of my FNWFs I felt. Happy stitching. xx

RSC 22 August update
And it is a ta-dah! moment as I have now completed all the dancing mini Dresdens/Hexadens around the border of my flimsy.
The final two Dresdens were added this week - the two brown ones up from bottom right.
Now for the next four months of the year I shall be working on some 5" rainbow Dresdens to go in each corner - one for each month which is very convenient and also means I shall have a completed flimsy by the end of the year ready to start again next year! Yes, I have plans.......
Anyway, papers and template on order from Sew & Quilt so I shall be all ready to start on September 1st.
I am linking up with Angela for Scrap Happy Saturday
Have a great weekend

Friday Night with Friends - August!
That first Friday of the month has arrived very quickly again. Lovely to be sewing with friends and thank you Cheryll for getting us together. You can see what everyone was up to here
First up I finished these two little Churn Dash blocks.
Then I thought I would crack on and add them to the first two and you can just see the result here - unpressed and in use as a table for basting my RSC Dresdens.

Friday Night Sew In
Good to be sewing with friends again on Friday - thank you Wendy for getting us together.
I started by finishing appliqueing these little purplish Dresdens to my RSC quilt
only two more of these to do then I can move on to the corner Dresdens.
Then I was able to start sewing together the hexagons for the final border of Wings
Good to get these underway and they go together pretty quickly.
I am off to see who else took part now, have a lovely weekend, its going to be a hot one here!

Friday Night With Friends
Many thanks Cheryll for another lovely evening stitching away with friends. You can see who else took part here
I spent my afternoon and evening watching cricket and working on appliqueing these RSC blue Dresdens to my top.
Then I moved on to my next Wings and Pretty Things block and got the stems sewn down and some prep done on the rest of the applique.
I have two completed Wings blocks to show you
Just three more to do.
Another finish this week was my hat.
I am very pleased with this finish - it is made from a lovely silk and merino mix from Perran Yarns. Lovely to work with and it is going to be very snuggly on windy days next winter.
I will be back soon.

FNSI
Good Friday and it's Friday Night Sew In which Wendy is extending to Easter Weekend Sew In. Click here to see who joined in and what they are getting up to. I thought I would start by posting my Friday work and will catch up later with anything else I work on over the weekend.
During the afternoon I worked in my #31daysartjournal sketchbook, now well into 40+ days but I finally have a couple of pages I am calling finished.
I love Ranunculus flowers and this one flowered on my kitchen window sill for most of March and into April so deserved a two page spread.
Then during the evening I added two pink RSC Dresdens to my quilt, they had been finished for a few days so just needed pressing and appliqueing.
Not many more of these little ones to do then I must do four rainbow Dresdens for the corners.
On Thursday I finished these Winwick Mum Easy Lace socks from her book More Super Socks. The lace bit really is easy and I love her heel. Next to try I think is the pattern for Easy Cable Socks - its some time since I did a cable. Meanwhile I can crack on with the hat that I bought the yarn for last week.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy Easter!
