WIP Tuesday

After a couple of sunny days with frosty mornings we are back to grey skies with rain promised for the next few days. It has been good to get out in the garden - there is so much clearing and pruning to do and we have already had one massive bonfire this winter. Digging too as we have onions and beans to plant before we go away next month.

While we were away over Christmas I was working on this Dawn Hay stitchery for her Preston Bag pattern.

I have decided not to make the bag at this time as I want to use this to make a mini quilt to go on my new quilt hanger. Hopefully I can show it to you with the finished quilt next week.

I have completed this little Jenny of Elefantz stitchery.

Now to decide finally what I shall make it in to. More on this later too.

Finally I have started work on my Crazy Quilt Journal Project block for January. Here it is before stitching commences.

All my blocks for the year are going to have a colour theme so my first is black and white. Ever since I did my winter crazy block last year I have wanted to do a block in black and white so this was a good oppotunity.

Until next time.

  1. Jardim é bonito mas mante-lo é trabalhoso. Um trabalho duro mas agradável.
Você fez bonitos bordados e o bloco preto e branco é uma promessa interessante!
    Um abraço!
Garden is beautiful but keeping it is laborious. A hard but enjoyable work.
You did beautiful embroidery and black and white block is an interesting promise!
    Hugs!

  4. Lovely projects, Lin! I met Dawn at the Let's Get Stitched weekend last year...another lovely designer! Those of us who went to that weekend, got the pattern for the Preston bag. It was called that as the hotel where we all gathered was in the melbourne suburb of Preston :-)

  8. Gorgeous stitcheries! Love the little sewing machine. Great idea to try a black and white crazy. Very unique! I'm afraid my crazy quilting venture came to a screeching halt with last January's block. Someday I will pick it up again.

  10. Hello Lin, thank you so much for your visit to my blog. I really appreciated it.
I am in such awe at your artistic quilting. So romantic and quite beautiful.
I don't do quilting, but I can appreciate the work and planning that it takes. It's another facet of why I enjoy Maria's blog, and now I shall enjoy yours as well.
    Cheers for now :D)

  12. Your stitching is lovely. Thanks for posting the links, it was nice to visit with those designers.

I like your idea of the coloured crazy quilt blocks. I didn't get as much done on my crazy blocks last year and look forward to finishing them this year.
