Scheepjes CAL 'Hygge' - it's a finish!

And it has been for at least the last week so I have no idea why I have not posted about it until now!!

Anyway, here it is in all it's glory.

These were the last two sections and you can also see the border and finished ends.

I am not overly enamoured with the double bobbles which make up the last section and wish that I had gone with my first instinct which was to reapeat the bobbles from the first section which are so striking. However, I am not going to worry about it and am very pleased overall with my finished shawl.

The last week of the instructions were how to line the shawl, but I have decided not to go for that as I feel that it is going to be very warm as it is. And I was careful about keeping my work neat on the back!

Linking up with Heather at Books and Quilts for Needlework Tuesday.

Enjoy your week.

Piecing myself together again!

I thought it was time to get my Hexathon quilt out again and have made good progress over the last couple of evenings.

All the Hexathon blocks are in place now so I need to add the rest of the plain hexagons to the middle and the half hexagons around the left and bottom edges to straighten everything up. The top right hand corner of the quilt will be plain.

In the post today were my Inchy Hexagon Swap hexies for the month which was very appropriate.

I am very pleased with my growing collection of turquoise and terracotta flowers.

I am linking up with Anthea at Hibiscus Stitches - if you are working on some EPP then why not show us all by linking up as well. It's easy!

It's been a lovely afternoon here and we are promised good weather for the rest of the week so we are off to the seaside tomorrow for the day!

I hope your week is going well.

FNSI and RSC for May

Many thanks to Wendy for inviting us to share our Friday night with her - you can see what everyone was working on here
I had a very productive afternoon and evening! First up I finished off my Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks. May is a green month!

So I am also linking up with Angela at soscrappy

Next up was to get my friend Jacquelines quilt layered up for quilting. You can see my first post about this quilt here. Since that photo was taken I have added the final border and pieced together the leftover fabrics to make the backing. Here it is, all pinned and ready to quilt.

And as promised, close ups of some of the blocks. This is her first quilt and she has done really well.

The fabrics are gorgeous - I especially love the one with the feathers.

It was nice to finish the evening with some hand sewing - secret stuff so only a glimpse!

So I hope you had a good Friday night and are enjoying the rest of your weekend.

CTTY for May and it's a finish!

Many thanks to Anthea again for hosting CTTY. Pop over to her blog here to see what everyone has been making.

I have finally finished the little bag that I was making to showcase the Gail Pan embroidery that I showed last month. It really is good having the CTTY deadline as I had to crack on with this yesterday - it might have been in my UFO pile for months otherwise!

This was a simple little make and I think very effective. There are lots of lovely designs in Gail's book.

Tomorrow night is ...

..still time to sign up - just pop over to Wendy's blog here and then join in the fun.

Have a great weekend.

EPP Tuesday on Wednesday!

And so it is Piece Yourself Together time again - many thanks to Anthea for organising the link up. You can go here to see what everyone has been working on.

A very minimal contribution from me this time - just my swap hexies for the month of May.

One of my partners just wanted stepping stones hence the little pile of green hexies.

Nice steady rain here at the moment - perfect for the garden but there are storms and hail forecast for later on today!

Hope you are having a good week.

Friday Night with Friends and my Scheepjes Hygge update

Many thanks to Cheryll for inviting us to share another Friday with her. You can visit Cheryll's blog here to see what everyone was working on.

I spent the evening working on the latest section of cross stitch on my Hygge shawl - Scheepjes CAL 2017. Here is what I did.

In my last post about this shawl this is the picture I showed you of the start of the centre section of the shawl.

Now that the centre section is complete it looks like this.

These were the next two sections.

So now my shawl looks like this!

It's long!! And tricky to photograph - it's wet outside today but I think next time it might need an outdoor shot.

Just the bobble section to add onto the end now and then I think there might be a border to come.

I hope you had a great Friday night and I shall be off to visit a few blogs to see what everyone got up to. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
