July FNSI and TAST samples
Thank you to Wendy for hosting again. Just click on her name to go and see what everyone else was doing.
Our hot dry weather continues so it is good to be indoors in the afternoons. I made a start on embellishing my latest crazy block
working this seam using Fly stitch which was this weeks TAST stitch.
I worked a row of long tailed fly stitches first in pink then another row of mauve short tailed fly stitch inside each cup. The cups are filled with ribbon stitch and decorated with crystal beads.
I also did this little piece of work using much freer fly stitches.
Hope everyone had a good FNSI and that you will have a great weekend.

I hope the hot weather is not too yuk , Lin... lovely textures in the combination of fabrics for your latest crazy block...
ReplyDeleteLove what you have done, Lin. The fly stitch looks very versatile, quite different effects whether formal or free!
ReplyDeleteI love your fly stitches. I'm joining in with TAST as well but as an avid beginner. My linen turned up this morning so I'm ready to go tomorrow. IT''s meant I've sold my soul to the devil though and reactivated my facebook account. YOu'll have a friend request from a Gina Smith, that's me. I won't be very active on there so there shouldn't be any silly game requests from me
ReplyDeleteLove the new header to your blog Lin, is that a place near here you live?
ReplyDeleteThe fly stitch variations are great and give very different effects, great use of beads.
