Yes I have finished my little granny squares blanket. You my remember that I made this to use up the yarns left over from making my Hygge so when it came to the border I was down to my last half a ball of the grey. I managed to work three rows of dc all round - well almost, it's about three inches short but I don't think it notices! And then I was left with some oddments of cotton. So I used them to make tassels for the corners and this is what I was left with.
I am happy with that.
I think I must have caught the crochet bug because I am wondering what I can make next!

Lovely finish Lin, and I like the way you tried to use up every last bit of yarn with the tassles on the corners! The blanket and your Hygge turned out so different to each other, it's interesting to realise they are from the same yarn!

ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Hannah has learnt how to crochet from a friend of mine. She accidentally taught her left handed - but she likes it so won't change now ( she's right handed )

When you posted about your Hygge.I got curious, and have not been able to stop crochet since, I became a real hooker. Finished "Nuts about square, participated Kalevala CAL, and just started Charlotte's Dream by Dedri. And the yarn seams to be pouring in to my house from UK.

I love your crocheted blanket. It is similar to the one I am currently making. I know what you mean about the crochet bug. I started with a CAL and haven't stopped since. The one I am making at the moment is with scraps from my last blanket and I have just ordered a kit from the UK for gorgeous crocheted blanket that will be quite a challenge for me but I am eager to start it. What a nice bug to get!! The blanket is beautiful and the tassels are a very clever touch. Great to be able to use up pretty much all of the wool.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beauty, and I can see now that it is fairly small. A lap quilt? For a baby? Will that leftover wool come in handy for embellishment on a crazy quilt block?
