The beginning of another month - well we are a fair way through it already! - and so it's time to get together with friends for our virtual sew-in. Many thanks to Cheryll for hosting us again - you can see what everyone was working on here
Sadly no pretty pics from me as I was working on secret stitching!
However, I did find time to try out my new light pad and traced out this Gardeners Journal block.
Oh wow, bliss! No more sellotaping designs to the window to trace them out. Really pleased with my purchase and wish I had bought one before. It is so slim and light and tucks neatly under my desk. Perfect.
Hope everyone enjoyed their Friday stitching and that you have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteLight pads are the best aren't they!!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing the secret sewing later.
ReplyDeleteYes the A4 size lightbox is great and you did a good job of tracing your GJ block. Happy stitching
Oooh! Look forward to seeing your secret stitching!
ReplyDeleteNice block. That’ll be fun to stitch! The light box sounds a great idea ..... better than using a Tupperware box with a torch in anyway!😊
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Hugs,

Love your Gardener's Journal block. They are such lovely blocks to stitch. The designs were from a lady from Western Australia called Pat Weir-Smith. Unfortunately I no longer have my book to tell you any other details....but she may come up on Google...cheers xx
ReplyDeleteThanks also for your lovely comment on my blog post.
so good that you've discovered the joys of a light pad.....makes life sooooo much easier! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Lin beautiful work my friend, well done xx
ReplyDeleteThe light pad sounds great. Until it broke in an unfortunate accident I used a special light my husband set up in a small fish aquarium! It worked perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI too sticky tape pictures to the window to trace them. That light pad is such a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your new design, and my goodness, yes, I've taped something to a window to trace it, and it was not a pleasant experience. The lightpad will make such a difference!
ReplyDeleteHello Lin
ReplyDeleteYour light pad will make it so much easier,no more aching arms. Good luck with your garden quilt.
Happy days
Bev

ReplyDeleteYour stitchery will be beautiful. I have a homemade light box, but I don't like to stitch by hand, so it is actually not in use. Secret sewing is so exciting. Are we going to see it soon?
