The car was booked in for a service on Friday afternoon so I went along with some quilting to do and sat in one of their comfy chairs drinking their very good - for a machine - coffee. Two hours later, all was well and I had completed quite a bit of quilting. Sadly I cannot show you as it is 'secret stitching'!
In the evening I worked on my stitch journal - that last lollipop tree was my Friday stitching.
Many thanks to Cheryll for getting us together on Friday - always lovely to see what everyone is doing.
This week has seen a couple of new starts, first up a new pair of Winwick Mum basic socks. And by the way, if you have knitted a pair of WM basic socks over the last year then there is a great giveaway - this is the link Winwick Mum you need to read through the post for details.
Another new start this week has been a Ripple Blanket using Lucy's lovely pattern I aim to use up some of my autumnal DK wools. No hurry with this one, just as and when. Maybe not so much over the summer should we get any warm weather!
On the subject of which, it has been a warm week here with temperatures of 26/27 degrees. Most un April/May like. Cooling down now though but it has not rained for a while.
Completed this week was my tree skirt roundel
these sew up nice and quickly.
I just had to initiate a major search for my Chookshed Challenge #8 as it was not in the box I had expected it to be in! However, having found it I now also know where #5 is, when we get to it!
So this is my #8
That quilting looks amazingly neat and tiny but the fabrics were all cotton lawn which makes for easier stitching.
So I think that is all I have to tell you this week - hope you all have a good week.
I'm always so impressed with people you knit socks! The yarn is so pretty. Having handwork is always so important when we need to wait, happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteYour stitch journal looks so great Lin - I would love to hold it in my hands & just inhale every stitch!!! It is so detailed. I am glad you found your # 8 challenge - those dyed fabrics look very lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteThere is a great variety of projects and techniques.... great to have hand stitching of some sort to do when waiting.... Love the zigzag blanket.....

Oh, birthday socks! :) Thank you for joining in and sharing the link! Your stitching looks beautiful as always xx
ReplyDeleteYou are so good with staying consistent with your stitch journal. I enjoy seeing all of your lovely stitches. The small quilt will make a nice cushion cover. I look forward to seeing where you display it.
ReplyDeleteLots happening on the stitching front, with a nice variety of projects. The rug will be nice and cosy when winter comes around later in the year. The cushion is definitely worth finishing, as the stitching looks beautiful.
ReplyDeletePhew! You had a busy time, warm too. I love Lucy's ripple, it makes a great blanket.
ReplyDeleteYour journal is growing beautifully with all your stitching.
ReplyDeletePretty wool to knit up a new pair of socks.
The browns will knit up to a lovely cosy ripple blanket.
Have fun doing your Chookshed Challenge this month.
A busy, productive week with two hours of "forced" stitching must have been a hardship!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a productive week, Lin, and some lovely stitching and knitting! I've had my eye on Lucy's ripple blanket, as I too have a lot of leftover yarns that would work well. But it's still too hot here, and the air conditioner is running all afternoon (and we're only three weeks from winter!)...so I am continuing on with the boro top, and and an experiment with an orange linen dress which is being restyled into a top for wearing with linen pants.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Jennifer
