Well, in between other projects, I have been busy cutting and tacking and now have a box full of hexies ready to sew together - when I decide on what to make. At the moment I am thinking Dilly Bag but who knows!
Lots of fabrics in there from way back as I work through my scrap box.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
I also have my May crazy block pieced together, framed and ready to start stitching.
This time the fabrics are all ones I have dyed myself - mottled and blotchy cos that's how I like them. There is some velvet in the middle, smooth and raw silk, cotton and the pin tucks were along the bottom of an old linen apron I bought years ago from a brocante. It had a few holes in but was perfect for ripping up and dyeing. This time I plan to be much freer with my embroidery - more like the work I did on my hexie machine cover .
It's another beautiful day in the Dordogne - hope it's fine where you are.
Love the hand die fabrics and what a lovely box full of hexi's.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a good idea to have lots of hexies ready to do something with, I look forward to seeing what that something is!
ReplyDeleteYour May block colours are pretty.

ReplyDeleteNice collection of hexagons and beautiful crazy block!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of hexies! Basting always takes the longest time - you'll have a finish in no time when you start stitching them together - thanks for the tip to link up too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful assortment of petals for future flowers.
ReplyDeleteHi Lin - great work on using your scraps to make hexy's!

ReplyDeleteLove the box of hexies! Your dyed fabrics look great in the crazy patch too.
ReplyDeleteI love your hand dyed fabrics and the uniqueness of them! That's so neat that you find linen or silk and then dye that as well. I'm looking forward to seeing your free stitching on this piece. Enjoy!
