It might be July....

but it is certainly not summer as we know it! The weather continues on its wierd and wonderful way with a mixture of sunny days and showery days and cooler temperatures. I even dug out my jeans this week.

On the sewing front I have made a start on my RSC blues - my little Dresdens are made and scraptherapy blocks made. The crumb blocks will have to wait until I clear my desk.

My desk is currently home to my watercolours and I have started on a still life using what I have learnt over the last couple of months. Here is my piece so far.

Still a few more days work to do on it especially the background which I am really nervous about!

In the evenings I have finished a couple more Field Journal hexies

and I have been continuing with the quilting on my tablecloth.

So that is me all caught up - hope to see you next week at FNSI - have a good week.

  1. I love that watercolor! I've played around with water color pencils some but I spend too much time doing other things to get very good. You do everything so well.

  4. So pretty, Lin! Love those hexies. Our weather has been funny too. Cooler than normal, followed by a lot hotter than normal. Either way, enjoy your stitching!

  8. I also got my jeans out this week as we hit 19C in the evening. I see you have your blues out and enjoyed a few rosettes. They are lovely. Your watercolor is amazing. I'm stuck on that cup and saucer. And the lace on the left is so intricate. Love your hexies. It will be a very interesting quilt or wall hanging. Enjoy! ;^)

  11. I admire you still life watercolor. By what means to you learn as your say. Do you take classes, practice a lot, read books for technique? Tho basically one has to have the innate talent and ability, hand/eye coordination, visual memory to begin to succeed as you have done.
