Didn't get to any sewing until the evening as we were out celebrating Philip's birthday during the day. We visited Dunster which is on the north Somerset coast. The castle and gardens were closed but we enjoyed a walk through the village and lunch in the Luttrell Arms.
Followed by a visit to the beach.
I had three Wings and Pretty Things blocks that needed some embroidery to complete them and this had been my plan for Friday evening. I got most of it completed, adding the last few stitches today.
These pretty fabrics are definitely not easy to photograph!
Many thanks to Cheryll and my other Friday Night Friends.
No, not easy to photograph - but charming!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Philip. Dunster looks a lovely place to explore.... I looked it up on the internet. I'm always amazed at those old buildings still standing. Very pretty little wings and pretty things blocks...

ReplyDeleteThose fabrics might be difficult to photographs but, oh, how pretty they are. This is going to be a gorgeous quilt, Lin. Each block is unbelievably sweet. It looks as if you and your husband enjoyed the village of Dunster. I always smile when I see photos of an English beach....I always wonder where is the golden sand. =)

ReplyDeleteGorgeous little birds!
ReplyDeleteThose English beaches are a far cry from our Australian beaches! But I love the little villages etc.
Happy birthday to Philip. You had a lovely day, Dunster is lovely (and a bit of a film star too). Last time we visited the castle was a couple summers ago, so the gardens were in full swing then. Your applique is pretty, such lovely fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun and enjoyable day in Dunster. Your applique blocks look so pretty and I'll bet they're even prettier in real life!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your hubby!! What a lovely way to spend the day.
ReplyDeleteLin, I love your header...snowdrops. Where I grew up each year I'd wait for the snowdrops to pop out of the ground. Sadly they do not grow in the tropics, but I love seeing photos of them.
Your blocks are *beautiful*!!
Sounds like you spent an enjoyable day in Dunster. I love your pretty birdies, the fabrics are so romantic.
