A couple of finishes!

Yes, I have been beavering away here, clearing up a few ongoing projects. First of all I am proud to show my completed tablecloth!

So pleased with this and apart from the hassle of trying to get those flower baskets square (which they are not!) I loved every stitch of this project.
The flower baskets use scraps from my collection, the applique is all using batiks and I have made a scrappy batik binding.

A couple of shots in the garden (it's the bench that is not level - not my photography)

and finally on the table where it will live.

Now for my second finish I have this scrappy cover for my Kenwood Chef which I started in the summer.

This replaces the old blue and yellow cover that I made many years ago and which has been well used and washed. It is now looking very tired, unlike this picture where it was brand new!

Also to report I have progress on Wings and Pretty Things. Whilst in UK recently I caught up with the fabric I had ordered for the first border so I have been able to add that and the second border of hexies and butterflies.

Now I can make a start on the next applique border of pretty things.

And finally a couple of Field Journal blocks which I finished back in August but had not got around to photographing.

Well that is all for now. I need to get on with some secret stitching this week and I may get out another Field Journal block to work on.

Have a good week.

  2. Lin, your finished tablecloth looks so marvelous! Your beautiful stitching skills are a showcase with this tablecloth. Only you know any imperfections. It looks perfect to me. Your scrappy Chef cover also is a joy to look at...while it does its very important job. I so love the colors you are using for your Wings and Pretty Things as well as your design. So pretty! Your newest Field Journal blocks look amazing.

  3. Your quilted tablecloth is beautiful. I was also taken by the Field Journal blocks. Did you sign up for the club where you recd the beautiful thread and Liberty fabric or did you have the embroidery pattern? I love how you made hexagons of the flowers. I have been mulling over an idea of making a quilt like this and would love to know how to get access to the embroidery pattern for these flowers.

Beautiful applique stitching and the lovely cross-hatching quilting is fabulous. The quilting really makes the applique pop. Your Kenwood Chef cover is lovely too. 10. I've just fished out my old hand cranked sewing machine and found the cover we made for it looking moth-bitten. I may have to emulate you, and make a new one!

I love the way the table cloth has turned out. It looks a real treat!

  11. Love, love, love your tablecloth! WOW! Really. Love the shot in the garden where the circle of diamonds can be seen. It's gorgeous on your little table. (No, we can't see that the basket blocks aren't square.) Bravo! Love your scrappy cover. Do you add batting to it? Do you have a link to the pattern? It's lovely! Always happy to see more block from Field Journal. So pretty. ;^)

  16. Goodness your basket tablecloth is stunning! I am so glad you won't be using it for a kitchen tablecloth where that beautiful work could be stained. All of your work is so intricate. Such painstaking love you have given your projects!

  17. Your tablecloth is Beautiful!! Congratulations on the finish - lovely that you do actually have it on a table (not stowed away) so that it can be enjoyed every day. I love your mixer cover too. Nice to see your Wings and Pretty things. Mine has been away for awhile (due to a work commitment quilt) and I'm looking forward to pulling it out again soon.
